MAKER DETAILS
Please see previous comments above. Matthew Worgan is recorded - "Born 1725 son of Thomas Worgan of Bristol, cutler." There were 2 Matthews, father and son.As this clock is circa 1775 , the first year that Matthew II is recorded and there are clocks extant by him signed Matthew Worgan Jnr. ( junior ) I feel that this is a clock by the father, Matthew I who was apprenticed to John Salmon in 1741, married 3rd March 1755 and died in 1798. For further details please see "The Clockmakers of Bristol 1650 - 1900" by A.J.Moore.
