Slade of Trowbridge ( recorded 1813 - 1820 )

12” breakarch painted dial with moonphases to arch by dialmakers Wilkes and Baker of 10, Whittall Street, Birmingham ( active 1815 - 1820 ). Subsidiary seconds dial below 12 o’clock position and “sad mouth” date aperture below dial centre. Three original brass hands for hours, minutes and seconds. 8 day movement with hourly ( rack ) striking to a single bell. Swan neck pediment to small, neat case of mahogany and flame mahogany with boxwood stringing, canted corners to trunk and base - all set on swept bracket feet. Small and pretty. 80” ( 203.5 cms. ).

11” silvered dial of unusual shape. Small, slim, long door, mahogany case of exceptionally good rich colour and patination. 8 day movement with hourly ( rack ) striking to a single bell. 80” ( 203.5 cms. ). Small and pretty.
