Case: Slim, plain oak case of typical mitred front South coast construction.Flat top hood with pillars attached to hood door.Long, flat top, trunk door with “double hump” mouldings , again, typical of period and region.  
Dial: 12” breakarch brass dial  with matted centre.The finely executed wheatear edge engraving continuing,  to border the early “starry sky” moonphase feature in the arch.Cast brass corner spandrels

Movement: Well executed 4 pillar, 8 day hourly rack striking movement with pull hour repeat.  
Maker: Thomas Beeching of Rye born circa 1700, buried 26 September 1771.Repairs to Rye church clock 1756 – 71.Regular bills to corporation for repairs to fire engine etc.
