Dial: 10” square brass dial with finely engraved and silvered dial centre.Large finely engraved date lunette.Single hand.Rococo spandrels.  
Movement: Good quality 30 hour “birdcage” movement with hourly striking on a single bell  
Maker:  George Hewett ( also spelt Hewitt ) of Marlborough recorded circa 1720 – 69.A well respected maker famous for his astronomical and musical clocks.
