Typical late 18C long door
“Bristol” style richly
coloured mahogany case with fine pierced work to top of hood under
swan neck pediment.
Note.Many Bristol mahogany cases were “imported” across the Severn estuary
by South Wales clockmakers – some even bearing Bristol case
makers’labels.Swansea at the time this clock was made was a
wealthy area because of the extensive international coal trade.
