Case Typical mid 18C, Greek key pattern under flat top, "Chew Valley" quarter sawn/straight sawn oak case displaying Bristol influences i.e. canted reeded corners to trunk, canted reeded corners to base, distinctive shaped top to trunk door and raised decorative "wavy on three sides" base panel.
Dial 12" breakarch brass dial with "starry sky" moonphases to arch and High Water at Bristol Key over, "floating" half hour markers to silvered chapter ring, typical Chew Valley extravagant "split tulip" date lunette, subsidiary seconds dial plus finely engraved and silvered dial centre.Cast brass rococo spandrels.Blued cut steel hands.
Movement Well executed, 4 pillar, 8 day movement with hourly ( rack ) striking and high quality geared moondrive.
