Title LCMISC 108
Case A slender, long door, ebonised pine case with shallow caddy top, side windows to hood.Hood columns attached to hood door. Matching hood rear quarter columns.
Dial 11" square ( unusually thin ) brass dial with decorative engraving between cherubs head spandrels.Subsidiary seconds dial, ringed and cross hatched winding holes, square date box, flower engraved and silvered dial centre, signed Robert Symes to silvered chapter ring.
Movement Well executed, very early, 8 day movement with massive plates, 5 screwed in decorative pillars, large external countwheel and large great wheels.Hourly ( countwheel ) strike. Unusual, early, construction.
