Case Typical late 18C, high quality, long door, well figured mahogany "Edinburgh" case with compressed eagle/ball centred swan neck pediment, having hand carved rose paterae and typical pierced frets under. Side windows to hood. Shaped top to trunk door, moulded detail to trunk sides and base.
Dial 12" breakarch brass dial with name boss to arch engraved Jn. ( John ) Dalgleish Edinburgh. Matted and engraved dial centre, subsidiary seconds dial, "square" datebox, rococo spandrels and blued, cut steel hands.
Movement Good quality 8 day movement with 4 knopped pillars and hourly ( rack ) striking.
