This Longcase Mahogany's Maker - Thomas Strickland of Kendal - is unrecorded ( but is a known and apparently rare maker ). There is recorded a Timothy Strickland of Kendal circa 1720 to circa 1740 which I speculate may be the father of Thomas as the date of this clock ( dating by style circa 1770 ) would fit in with Thomas being the son and when he would have been working.

This Longcase Mahogany's Movement - Good quality, 4 pillar, 8 day movement with hourly ( rack ) striking. - Price: £15,750
