This Longcase Mahogany's Maker - Morgan of Union Street, Bristol.This will be John Morgan who was at 31, High Street 1775 - 1814 then 14, Union Street in 1814.In 1815 the business became J.Morgan & Son so this clock may be accurately dated to 1814, especially so as the dialmaker is recorded 1808 – 1815 ( Weaman Street, Birmingham ).

Case Good, small, nicely proportioned long door, boxwood strung mahogany case with eagle ball centred swan neck pediment and fluted “flying” hood columns.Typical of the period and location.
Dial 12” breakarch “Kempson and Felton” painted dial with moonphases to arch, Arabic “minutes numbered” outside large Arabic chapters, subsidiary seconds dial, “sad mouth” date aperture and punch decorated brass hands.
Movement Good quality 4 knopped pillar 8 day movement with hourly ( rack ) striking on a single bell.
