Case Excellent long door, Chippendale influenced, flame mahogany case with breakarch top having "keystone" centred fret under, reeded brass capped hood columns and matching trunk quarter columns. Shaped top to trunk door. Pierced fret details under trunk quarter columns and base canted corners. Scallop cornered panelled base with ogee bracket feet. Excellent rich colour and patination.
Dial 13" breakarch early Wilson painted dial with red starburst centred subsidiary seconds and date dials. Raised gilt gesso corner spandrels, early ( pre brass collet ) winding holes,. Name Thos. ( Thomas ) Brown Birmingham over moonphase arch. Blued cut steel hands.
Movement High quality 4 pillar hourly ( rack ) striking 8 day movement.
