Case Early 19C typical "Bristol" shell inlaid, long door, figured mahogany case with swan neck pediment, reeded hood columns, contoured inside edge to hood door, boxwood strung canted corners to trunk, book matched veneers to base all set on shallow bracket feet.Good colour and patination. Fetaures rocking ship automaton.Superb long door figured mahogany case.
Dial 12" breakarch "Wilson" painted dial with raised gilt gesso borders enclosing delicately flower painted corner spandrels. Subsidiary seconds dial and "sad mouth" date aperture.Arabic hour numerals with "minutes numbered" outer. Original "man o' war" galleon rocking ship automaton to arch.Blued cut steel hands.
Movement Good quality 8 day 4 pillar movement with hourly ( rack ) striking.
